The Secret History of Esoteric Traditions in America with Glenn Kreisberg at the Olive Free Library

When Dutch, British, and Scottish settlers arrived in Ulster County, they brought more than tools and ambitions, they brought Freemasonry. Explore how these secretive fraternal lodges shaped early American communities, fostered civic identity, and helped newcomers put down roots. Author and researcher Glenn Kreisberg traces the local history and esoteric origins of Freemasonry, from Ulster County’s own Robert R. Livingston, who swore in George Washington as president, to the rise of Prince Hall Freemasonry, founded by free Black Americans. Discover how these traditions helped shape the social fabric of early America. Glenn is a Woodstock based author and researcher whose latest book explores Freemasonry in Ulster County and early America. His work has been featured on The History Channel. Snow Date: Feb 13
