Raised in Slaughters, Kentucky, he follows a simple rule: “If I can’t believe myself, I won’t sing the song.” That no-frills philosophy fuels his Americana-rooted blend of folk, country, and rock across nine studio albums—from his 1998 debut to 2019’s electric, hard-hitting Almost Daylight. Because Knight’s music lives outside the mainstream, he’s earned his audience one show at a time, where his stark tales of rural life and resilient characters resonate most. Standout tracks like “It Ain’t Easy Being Me,” “Carla Came Home,” and “Everybody’s Lonely Now” showcase his raw, narrative style. His writing draws heavily from his upbringing in mining country, his work as a reclamation inspector, and the influence of his musical hero, John Prine. Praised by The New York Times as “the last of a dying breed” and by USA Today as a storyteller in the lineage of Mellencamp and Springsteen, Knight has built a reputation as one of America’s most respected, uncompromising songwriters. He only sings what he believes and only speaks when he has something to say—an approach that has defined his career and kept his music standing strong. Website | Facebook | Instagram Thomas Charles Clukey Thomas Charles Clukey grew up in rural Maine, where music first found him through classic country radio, school bands, and time spent singing with his dad. Though he spent years working with his hands in welding and manufacturing, songwriting remained a quiet constant in the background. In recent years, that spark has grown into a full-blown pursuit—leading to award-winning songs, local performances, and the release of his first singles as he works toward his debut album.
