The Future is Here – Halcyon Strings & Alisa Amador

Free Community performance. Donations to support the Opera House encouraged at the door. What does the world look like when the climate crisis is no longer a problem we will deal with in the future, but a problem we are solving in the present? Halcyon is collaborating with singer/songwriter Alisa Amador to present The Future is Here. The production is Halcyon’s latest multimedia performance featuring the stories and actions of Maine people who are working on the ground to build creative, regenerative, and resilient communities in response to the climate crisis. Combining live music with film, community voices, and stop-motion animations, The Future is Here celebrates the ingenuity within our communities through a series of vignettes that tell stories of the concrete actions being taken to mitigate the climate crisis and build communities that are more equal, more sustainable, and more open. The performance amplifies the action, innovation, creativity, and determination that already exists within Maine communities. The event is sponsored by the Boothbay Region Land Trust, Boothbay Region Clean Drinking Water Initiative, Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, Boothbay Sea& Science Center, Sunrise Ecologic and the Boothbay Region Climate Action Committee.
