Works by Kaija Saariaho and Meredith Monk are brought together in a program shaped by two singular musical voices. Saariaho’s Light and Matter and Die Aussicht are heard with Monk’s Stringsongs and excerpts from Book of Days. Both composers are known for their close attention to timbre and texture, often extending traditional vocal and instrumental techniques. This performance invites audiences into richly imagined and deeply individual sound worlds.
