About this event
One of 47 upcoming events at Orchestra of St. Luke's, and 11,915 across New York City.
Christophe Rousset, the internationally acclaimed conductor, harpsichordist, and founder of Les Talens Lyriques, makes his OSL and Carnegie Hall conducting debuts in a program pairing two sacred works by Schubert and Mozart. Schubert’s Mass No. 2 in G, written when the composer was 18, opens the evening before Mozart’s Requiem, left unfinished at his death. Rousset leads OSL and the Grammy-nominated Clarion Choir, directed by Steven Fox, alongside an exceptional quartet of soloists: soprano Liv Redpath, who has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera and Royal Opera House; acclaimed mezzo-soprano and BBC Cardiff Singer of the World winner Jamie Barton; tenor Andrew Staples, a regular guest at leading opera houses and orchestras internationally; and three-time Grammy Award-winning bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green, one of today’s leading American opera singers and a recipient of the Metropolitan Opera’s Beverly Sills Artist Award.
