Close your eyes and you can almost smell it — board wax and brine, the hum of a Fender cranked through a reverb tank, something strange and electric underneath. That's Surf Monster: a San Francisco three-piece with a debut album produced by Bay Area jazz-funk legend Jerry Stucker, packed with original compositions that smuggle in saxophone, Theremin, and siren vocals between the waves.
