Back by popular demand, this unforgettable tribute to the music and spirit of Jimmy Buffett returns to the Palladium this November! Last season’s celebration brought Parrotheads together for an emotional and joy-filled evening honoring one of America’s most beloved performers. This year, Coral Reefer Band members and friends will reunite on our mainstage in Hough Concert Hall for the largest gathering yet in the Tampa Bay area. Coral Reefer vocalists Nadirah Shakoor and Tina Gullickson, who backed up Jimmy for three decades, will light up the Palladium mainstage. Pedal steel player Doyle Grisham, who first recorded with Buffett on “A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean” in the 70’s, continues be a signature element of the Coral Reefer Band sound. Joining them is Roger Bartlett, nicknamed “Coral Reefer #001” as he was Buffett’s first road band member, added in Austin, Texas in 1973. John Frinzi, lead vocalist and guitarist at many memorable Key West Meeting of the Minds gatherings, will also be performing. Adding to the lineup are Vinnie Seplesky of the Mad Beach Band on bass, Rich McDonald on drums, and Robin Swanson on keyboards. ABOUT THE ARTISTS ROGER BARTLETT: Roger Bartlett is the original guitarist of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band. In the early days it was just Jimmy and Roger. Two acoustic guitars, and vocals. After a year on the road as a duo, and with the success of a hit song, Come Monday, it was clear a band was needed for the bigger venues they were playing, so Jimmy added Greg “Fingers” Taylor on harmonica and keyboard, Harry Dailey on bass and Phillip Fajardo on drums. Roger is also infamous as the singer and writer of the song Fool for a Blonde from the classic horror movie “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” and for the many incarnations of his own bands, and as lead guitarist for many artists from New York to Las Vegas. JOHN FRINZI: John Frinzi blends folk, pop and country, delivering a sunny, laid-back beach vibe. A gifted singer and songwriter, Frinzi has built an audience through craft and originality. An early demo caught the ear of legendary pedal steel guitarist Doyle Grisham, a longtime member of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band, and their working relationship led to John’s first album, “Into The Dawn.” His second release, “Shoreline,” showcases Frinzi’s versatility as a songwriter and vocalist with many of the songs co-written by Tom Corcoran, co-writer of the Buffett classics,“Fins,” and “Cuban Crime of Passion”. Most recently, John teamed up with multi-platinum songwriter and producer Aaron Scherz to release “Blue Sky View.” Singles from all of these albums remain in regular rotation on Sirius/XM’s Radio Margaritaville. A seasoned live performer, Frinzi has toured nationally, performed in the Caribbean and Europe and has been featured at major festivals including Musikfest, The Keith Sykes Songwriters Celebration, Key West Songwriters Festival, Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival and has shared the stage with acclaimed artists including Jesse Winchester, Mac McAnally, The Coral Reefer Band, Todd Snider and Maria Muldaur. DOYLE GRISHAM: Doyle Grisham has had a distinguished career in the music industry since moving to Nashville in 1966. Early on, her toured with Roy Drusky and played the Grand Ole Opry before serving in the Navy. Post-service, he worked with David Houston and Tompall & The Glaser Brothers, where he delved into studio work while continuing appearances at the Grand Ole Opry and touring with Lynn Anderson. His session work from the ‘70s through today include notable artists including Jimmy Buffett, Lynn Anderson, Dr. Hook, Kenny Rogers & The First Addition, George Jones, Randy Travis, Dan Sales, Reba McIntire, Mel Tillis, Leona Williams, and many more. One highlight that stands out from many memorable recordings were the sessions for a duet album where Randy Travis invited several top artists to join him; some of those artists included Roy Rogers, Tammy Wynette, Chet Atkins, Dolly Parton, Kris Kristofferson, B.B. King, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, and more. In 1999, Doyle began touring with Jimmy Buffett & The Coral Reefer Band and played with his own band, The Bandits, while recording Buffett’s “Beach House On The Moon.” He was inducted into the Texas Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 2002 and joined The Grinders Switch Ensemble in 2016. For the past 25 years, Doyle balanced touring with Buffett, studio work, and appearances on the Grinders Switch Hour.
