TICKETS General Admission: $30. Doors open at 2pm for seating. ABOUT THE SHOW The story of the “Nutcracker” begins on a magical Christmas Eve in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1872. It is told through the eyes of an eccentric toymaker, Herr Drosselmeyer and his beloved Goddaughter, Clara. Clara must find the courage to believe in the power of love for the enchanted Nutcracker Prince in order to save him from the evil Mouse King. The Ballet features dancing children, mischievous boys, a Siamese Warrior, toy soldiers, giant mice, sword fights, Snowflakes, Spanish dancers, Buffoons, Waltzing Flowers and the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. ABOUT ACADEMY OF BALLET ARTS The Academy of Ballet Arts is a dance studio in St. Petersburg, Florida that offers professional dance instruction to anyone at any age. Founded in 1969, ABA has been recognized as one of the most established dance studios in the Tampa Bay area. We are a non-profit, pre-professional dance academy whose primary focus is to provide professional dance instruction to an under-served urban community known as Midtown in the heart of St. Petersburg, Florida. The mission of the Academy of Ballet Arts, Inc. is to develop the potential of each student to express his or her individual ideas and emotions through the beauty of movement.
