Family Concert: “Sleeping Beauty and the Orchestra”

Michelle Sherman is a South Florida–based artist and certified art educator. She studied Fine Art at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and participated in the summer program at School of Visual Arts. She is an alumna of the Dreyfoos School of the Arts and holds a Master’s degree in Art Education from University of Florida. With more than 15 years of teaching experience, Michelle has dedicated her career to helping students develop confidence and creativity through art. In 2023, she founded I Heard You Can Draw, an art studio in Boca Raton focused on teaching students to excel in drawing and painting. Alongside her teaching and studio practice, Michelle is the author and illustrator of three children’s books, which encourage young artists to explore their creativity and discover their unique artistic voice. Her watercolor series Window into Boca Raton (2023) was exhibited at the Spanish River Library and featured in Boca Magazine online. Her self-portrait drawing was selected for the juried exhibit, Mirror, Mirror in the Cornell Art Museum in Delray Beach (2025). In her current works, Sherman turns inward — painting the interior body as a metaphor for thought and feeling.
