BUY TICKETS Chris Wells With Jeremy Bass on Guitar And special guest Marlon Cherry Obie Award winner Chris Wells and longtime collaborator Jeremy Bass perform an evening of original songs that are theatrical, wild, funny and filled with human tenderness. Their subjects range from NYC character studies to one-night stands, a harrowing run-in with an old friend, to the first night of summer camp. The pair behind the cult-hit musical, Olsen Terror, and part of the downtown church of art, The Secret City, will be joined by Marlon Cherry on percussion. CHRIS WELLS is an Obie award-winning performer, writer, teacher and arts activist who makes theater, community celebrations, songs and stories. He’s the founder and producing artistic director of the much-lauded artchurch, The Secret City. He lives in Woodstock, NY, with his husband, the painter Robert Lucy. Wells just finished his first novel, Je Suis Fatty Gay. JEREMY BASS is a guitarist, songwriter, and poet based in Woodstock, NY. His poems and songs have won the John Lennon Award for Best Jazz Song and the UK Songwriting Contest Mozart Award. Since 2006 he has been the bandleader and Music Director for The Secret City. His latest album, Cabin Songs, comes out March 2026 on Adhyâropa Records. Multi-instrumentalist/composer, Marlon Cherry has worked with a variety of artists, including Stew & The Negro Problem, The Roches, Syd Straw, Eszter Balint, Pete Seeger, Odetta, Church of Betty, and John S. Hall. He is also an accompanist for modern/contemporary dance with the dance department at Barnard College. He has released 5 solo records, the latest of which, Fever Dreaming In Lo-Fi, is available at Bandcamp, CD Baby, Spotify, iTunes, and the other usual streaming suspects.
