About this event

We are showing the film, Written on the Landscape, which features insights on archeoastronomy from Chaco Culture and Chimney Rock National Monument – certified International Dark Sky Parks. The ancient Puebloan culture provokes a sense of power and mystery. It makes one curious to think about what it must have been like to live there at that time. One of the cinematographers in the film – Adriel Heisey – will be there to give a short presentation about his contribution in the film. If you have explored research about Chaco astronomy, then you have probably seen his work. It is going to be a fun night celebrating the Summer Solstice, our connection to the cycles of nature, and the rhythms of natural darkness and light! Presented by Dark Skies Paonia. $20 Suggested Donation. Special thanks to our sponsors – Juniper Circle Productions and the Carl E Berg Education Foundation.
