Every month, we showcase one or two of our artist owners/members. We give them extra display space in the front windows to really show off their work. For the month of April, the honor goes to Jackie Friesth. We also have a reception for the artist of the month on the 2nd Friday of the month. This month’s reception is April 10th. Stop by to meet the artist if you can! Louisville-based watercolor artist Jackie Friesth finds inspiration in botanicals and the quiet beauty of forms discovered in nature. Working in watercolor, she is drawn to the organic elegance of leaves, blooms, and natural objects, capturing their essence with intention and clarity. Her current body of work reflects an exploration of mid-century aesthetics alongside a deeper connection to her Icelandic and Scandinavian heritage. Influenced by the clean design principles and restrained palettes often associated with Nordic art and design, her paintings embrace clean lines, simple shapes, and bold, confident color.
