June is the perfect time to appreciate and draw butterflies. Colorado is known for its large diversity of different kinds of butterflies. Instructor: April Christenson ( aprilchristensonartist.com/ ) Ages: Adults & Teens Prerequisite: None; class is for both beginning and continuing students Class Size: Minimum 2 students in class, Maximum 8 Materials fee: $15 for handouts payable to Instructor Description:You can be a new or continuing artist to enjoy this class! June is the perfect time to appreciate and draw butterflies. Colorado is known for its large diversity of different kinds of butterflies. This is due to our different ecosystems. (Plains, Foothills, Mts.). Each butterfly has their own unique wing design. After tracing with black permanent pen, then we will add color with watercolor pencils for a beautiful result. The teacher will provide color reference photos to use. Bring to Class: Bring a 9″x 12″ watercolor paper pad or a watercolor “block” (recommended). Do not get a “rough” watercolor pad. Also bring a set of 12 watercolor pencils and a small pointed watercolor brush.
