INTRO TO PINE NEEDLE BASKETRY: Sunday, November 1, 1:00 – 5:00pm

In this class, you’ll learn how to use coil basketry techniques to make a small pine needle basket. Instructor: Allie Olson Ages: 12 and up Prerequisite: None Class Size: Minimum 2, Maximum 10 Descriptrion: In this class, you’ll learn how to use coil basketry techniques to make a small pine needle basket. Through the half day workshop, you will learn to prepare pine needles for weaving, create the initial spiral around a wooden center, build the walls of the basket, and finish the border of your basket. Additionally, Allie will share the origins of pine needle coil basketry and the basics of pine needle foraging. You will leave with the skills to harvest wild materials and continue creating your own pine needle baskets at home. Bring to Class: All tools and materials will be provided.
