We will paint florals from life as well as from a photo reference. The focus will be on simplifying areas of unwanted complexity. Instructor: Jeanne Hougen, www.jeannehougen.com Ages: Teens and Adults, age 15 and up Prerequisite: This class is designed for students who have taken one of Jeanne’s beginning oil classes, or for those with some previous painting experience. Class Size: Minimum of 3, Maximum of 10 (Contact instructor if you are unable to make a class for possible make up opportunities) Description: We will paint florals from life as well as from a photo reference. The focus will be on simplifying areas of unwanted complexity and capturing the luminous nature of flower petals. Getting a firmer handle on the basics of painting and design will give any artist a boost toward better paintings. You will learn through discussions, demonstrations, and one-on-one instructor help as you paint. This ongoing class will cover the six building blocks on a cyclical basis: design/shape, drawing/line, values, color, edges, and brushwork/detail. Bring to Class: Please bring the painting supplies you normally use. The gallery does have table and standing easels for your use.
