In this 4-week class you will be introduced to the joys of painting from life outdoors. Instructor: Jeanne Hougen Ages: Teens and Adults, age 15 and up Prerequisite: This class is designed for someone with some painting experience. If you are a beginner, please contact instructor. Class size: minimum of 3, maximum of 12 Materials Fee: None Description: In this 4-week class you will be introduced to the joys of painting from life outdoors. On the first week we will talk through supplies commonly used outdoors, and make sure everyone has what they will need (I have a few Plein air easels that people can borrow if you don’t have one and are not ready to purchase). After a bit more of a discussion on how to’s, we will step outdoors for some Plein air sketching. The next three weeks with consist of discussions, demonstrations, and Plein air painting together. We will discuss and decide on painting locations on week one. Discussions will revolve around how to take what we see in regards to shape, composition, color and value, and then to translate it into paint. Bring to class: all you need is a sketchbook and pencil on the first day of class. We will discuss supplies, and you will receive a supply list then.
