In this 4-week class series, students will refine their skills around brushstrokes, edges, light & shadow, composition & color mixing & use. Instructor: Cathy Faughnan (www.cathyfaughnan.com) Ages: Adults & Teens Prerequisite: Class is designed for beginners; however, brand-new students are encouraged to take the one day beginning acrylic bootcamp class on April 1 Class size: minimum 4, maximum 10 participants Materials Fee: None Description: During this 4-week class series, students will refine their skills with the critical elements of successful painting including brushstrokes, edges, light and shadow, composition and color mixing and use. Students are encouraged to bring reference photos of their choosing including landscapes, animals, florals, still life or figures. This class series is open to beginning and more advanced students. The instructor will help those just starting out with the concepts of color theory, value and drawing however, brand-new students are encouraged to take the one day beginning acrylic bootcamp class on April 1. Students can choose to take the classes as a series or individually as their schedule allows. Bring to Class: Students will supply all materials including a sketch book and sketching tools, paint, brushes, pallet, paint, along with canvases or the surface of their choice. Some reference photos and will be provided but students are encouraged to take and bring their own as well as ideas from art they have seen. Please bring a phone with a camera to aid in developing your painting and documenting your progress. Cathy will share a materials list with enrolled students.
