Alicia Tormey

Natural Splendor is a tale of two worlds: the macro and the micro perspectives of a newly discovered universe. Tormey’s latest series of landscapes represents the immensity of an imagined, primordial world, vast, pristine and unknown. While her botanical works take a closer look at what’s growing in the distance of these uncharted places. “I invite the audience to become a surveyor, an explorer, the  first to discover untouched environments. In addition, the viewer becomes a forager: venturing deeper into the marshes, prairies and deserts of the imagination and returning with botanical specimens to be more closely examined.
