She earned her Ph.D. in English from Temple University with a specialty in medieval literature. Her research interests focus on Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, especially those that reflect on issues of justice and law; women in medieval literature; and the life and work of the twentieth-century author and humanitarian Pearl S. Buck. For the past several years, Carol has led a series of discussions on several volumes of Pearl Buck’s short stories and is now engaged in discussions of selected novels by the author. Carol lives with her husband in an old farmhouse in Bucks County that once served as Welcome House, a foster care center established by Pearl S. Buck in 1949 to house and nurture unadoptable, racially mixed children. Class is complimentary Call 215-249-0100 to register.
