Discover the hidden beauty of everyday textures inspired by the work of printmaker Yinghan Zhang. Using crayons or graphite, create rubbings from natural objects and textured surfaces to reveal intricate patterns and surprising details. Then cut, layer, and arrange your rubbings into imaginative collages inspired by landscapes, stones, plants, or entirely new creations. Along the way, artists of all ages practice slowing down, looking closely, and exploring how simple textures can become something extraordinary through creativity and careful observation. Drop in any time: 9:30am - 12 Noon. FREE from families with children ages 3 to 12. This Family Art Day is led by artist educator Katie Baeten and PenArt’s amazing volunteers. The 2026-27 season marks 25 years of hands-on making, arts learning, and intergenerational connection through Family Art Days. Join us in celebrating! Please consider bringing non-perishable food and personal care items with you to Family Art Day to benefit Lakeshore CAP’s Door County Food Pantry.

Keep exploring
