Climbing Wall Classes

Learn the skills needed to safely climb and belay at the Peterson Fitness Center Climbing wall. Classes are held the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 5 – 7 p.m. Successful participants receive Top Rope Belay Test outs and can check out climbing equipment for use at the wall. Cost: $40/person. Includes class or test out, as well as a 1-year membership for the Climbing wall room from the date of the test out, during the fitness center’s regular staffed operating hours. Restrictions: Must be 5 years or older and at least 40 lbs to climb; Must be 14 years or older to become Top Rope Belay Certified. Location: Sign up for classes at Outdoor Recreation, Bldg. 640; Classes held at the Peterson Fitness Center. Sign-up deadline: By 12 p.m. the day of the class. Cancellation deadline: By 5 p.m. the Monday prior to the class.
