Root 5 is a Northwest Americana band built on good stories, road tested grit, and songs that go down easy with a cold drink. Fronted by Washington based songwriter and guitarist Michael Taskey, the band blends country, folk, and rock into soulful originals with driving acoustic grooves and plenty of heart. Their blue collar songs feel right at home in a neighborhood bar and they mix in fresh, roots driven takes on classic ’80s favorites to keep things familiar and fun. Shaped by lived experience, Root 5 brings an easygoing Northwest sound made for long nights and good company.
