From Poster House

Join Poster House for a tour of Designed to Be Red: Native American & Indigenous Poster Works with Dazzle Studio founder and designer Zipeng Zhu and Poster House’s Assistant Curator of Collections Es-pranza Humphrey, who will share their unique perspectives on the show. Humphrey will walk through the exhibition and offer insights into the posters on the walls, while Zhu will break down the graphic design, typography, and visual language of the works on view. Zipeng Zhu is a Chinese-born artist, designer, educator, and the founder of the award-winning creative practice DAZZLE STUDIO in New York City. He wants to make every day a razzle-dazzle musical. He has collaborated with iconic brands such as Apple, Adidas, Adobe, Coca-Cola, Instagram, Microsoft, Netflix, the New York Times, the New Yorker, Uber, MTV, and Samsung. His work has been exhibited at major museums and institutions in cities all over the world, including New York, Barcelona, Dubai, Shanghai, Beijing, and Mumbai. Zipeng dedicates his days to running both DAZZLE STUDIO and the merch shop DAZZLE SUPPLY, bringing his dazzling design to clients and everyday fans around the globe. Es‑pranza Humphrey is the Assistant Curator of Collections at Poster House, where her research centers on Black performance, fashion, and visual culture. Her scholarship on the graphic language of the Black Panther Party has been featured in the New Yorker, on NPR, and on ABC’s Here and Now, as well as in several international publications. This program is presented by Poster House’s CMYK Council, the museum’s BIPOC advisory board that works to ensure the museum is accessible to communities of color. Accessibility Note: Masks are available free of charge at the museum. Assistive listening devices and stools are available. ASL (American Sign Language) interpretation or a CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) is also available upon request. Please contact [email protected] or (914) 295-2387 to request interpretation services and to address any other accessibility needs.
