About this event
Parents and children of all ages are invited to sing, dance, and learn about classic American popular songs like “Come, Josephine In My Flying Machine” and “Take Me Out To The Ball Game” with the team from Tin Pan Alley! Children will learn how songs are created and that they, too, can create a popular song or dance, while adults will delight in rich storytelling about these songs’ New York City origins and how their legacies continue today. This interactive workshop will be led by Robert Lamont, singer/pianist and Education Committee Chair of the Tin Pan Alley American Popular Music Project. Special guests to be announced! For more information, please visit www.tinpanalleyny.org. This event is free to all. This is not a drop-off program. This program is part of West Side Fest, a three-day celebration of arts and culture across Manhattan’s historic West Side, organized by the West Side Cultural Network. Robert Lamont is a musical director, arranger, and pianist known for his work… View Source
