Attendees of all ages and backgrounds will leave this Gathering with a deeper understanding of the research and monitoring efforts happening in our area. This conference is for everyone and follows a community-centered approach. We encourage dialogue between researchers and residents to co-create knowledge and solutions. Speakers will highlight the relevance of their knowledge and how the science is relevant to the community. Hands-on workshops will engage the community, fostering participation and learning. Poster presentations will promote the exchange of ideas, foster collaboration, and empower participants to contribute to their fields in a meaningful way. This conference aims to appreciate local artists and performers while engaging local students and educators to broaden the impact and accessibility of the event. As a debut event, the Cordova Science Gathering will establish a new foundation for how research and ideas are shared within the community of Cordova. Participants will contribute to setting the tone and standards for future iterations. Highlighting the uniqueness of this first-time event will inspire excitement and engagement while encouraging community participants to see the value in being part of a pioneering effort.   Mission Statement Cordova Science Gathering: From the Mountains to the Sea brings experts from all backgrounds and fields to leverage knowledge of Cordova’s aquatic, marine, and terrestrial ecosystems to enrich our understanding of the natural world.   Vision Cordova Science Gathering aspires to be a dynamic platform where curiosity, collaboration, and innovation converge.
