Tuesday Night Talk: March 31st, 5:30-6:30 pm Join the Prince William Sound Science Center every Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. to hear different speakers from your Alaskan community. Tonight we will be joined by Brian DiMento. Brian will be discussing Road Runoff and Tire Toxins: What We Know About 6PPDQ in Alaska. 6PPD-quinone (6PPDQ) is a chemical found in tires. It was recently discovered to be highly toxic to coho salmon as stormwater runoff washes tire wear particles into rivers and streams. This presentation will provide an overview about what we know about 6PPDQ, and the work currently being done to better understand its potential impacts in Alaska. This talk will take place on March 31st from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the Prince William Sound Science Center.
