Join us for a copper etching demonstration led by Ian Ruppenthal, Assistant Printer & Studio Manager, Lower East Side Printshop. Attendees will use an etching needle to draw lines onto one copper plate, creating a collaborative drawing. While the plate soaks in the ferric chloride bath, Executive Director Marie Tennyson will show examples of etchings from LESP’s collection. Finally, the event concludes with a demonstration of inking the plate and running it through the etching press. All materials are provided. Please note this workshop takes place at Lower East Side Printshop. Registration will open soon.
