Celebrate the last day of the exhibition New Voices: Design at Print Center New York with artist Michael Menchaca, who will present a screening of the trailblazing 1926 film The Adventures of Prince Achmed (66 min, dir. Lotte Reiniger). This feature-length film includes thousands of hand-cut paper figures animated frame-by-frame, a foundational precursor to modern-day stop-motion animation. The screening will be followed by a short talkback with the artist who will discuss the film’s significance to their practice.
