Gilbert) pay-what-you-can: $35-165 Monoprint, often called the painterly print, is a print made by applying ink and stencils to a plexiglass plate and then transferring the image to a piece of paper. Alongside the basic intro techniques of additive and subtractive processes, where ink is added onto the matrix through painting or rolling, demonstrations using hand cut stencils, textured materials and strategic wiping away or painting in, will be shown. This workshop is open to the beginner and the advanced level printmaker alike! It can also be repeated multiple times to develop a series of work. Open to ages 18+. Registration deadline: June 17 *PS1 workshops are pay-what-you-can thanks to support from Hills Bank and individual donors. $130 is the true cost of the workshop for each participant. Please note there are a limited number of subsidized spots. Her primary printmaking media concentrate in Intaglio, Lithography, Cyanotype and Monoprint, which often combine in her work. May graduated from Cal State University, Long Beach in 2017 with her Bachelor in Fine Arts, Printmaking. Since then, she has been teaching printmaking courses at Loyola Marymount University, Otis College of Fine Art and managed a printmaking studio in Santa Monica, CA named Josephine Press. May has an extensive background in collaboration printing, print education through workshops and universities and enjoys being heavily involved in her Printmaking communities.
