About this event
One of 34 upcoming events at Public Works Art Center.
In this drawing course, students will develop the foundational skills and techniques needed to create realistic drawings. Through hands-on projects and guided practice, students will strengthen their drawing, shading, observational, and design skills while learning how to become a confident artist. They’ll explore composition, perspective, and creative problem-solving as they work with charcoal, graphite, and ebony pencils. Students will also receive personalized feedback and tips on creating artwork confidently. This class is designed to help prepare students for Rollings School of the Arts auditions, develop their own original style, or simply become a better drawer. Students can take a class to refresh their skills or sign up for multiple classes for extended feedback and development. Meet the Teacher: Hello! I am Adrienne Johnson. I graduated from College of Charleston with a Bachelor’s of Art in Arts Management. I have been teaching Elementary Art for 8 years. I have also worked under Larry Barnfield with Rollings Auditions for 15 years. My art expertise is charcoal and drawing. I am a Summerville native and went to Rollings for Visual Arts from 4th to 8th grade. My personal goal as an art teacher is to give students the tools and knowledge to have pride in their art and appreciate themselves as artists.
