About this event

Family Friendly

This 6-week session continues to expand on the foundational skills learned in previous courses, giving students even more opportunities to explore creativity through practical, hands-on sewing projects. Throughout this session, students will refine their sewing machine techniques, practice precision stitching, and take on new challenges like pattern reading, layering fabrics, and assembling multi-step projects. Each class is designed to strengthen their confidence and independence while encouraging creative expression and problem-solving. By the end of the session, students will have completed several projects that combine both skill and imagination- perfect for those ready to take their sewing to the next level! All materials, supplies, and equipment are provided. This session is best suited for returning students or beginners with prior basic sewing experience. Meet the Teacher: Ashley Huff Ashley is a fourth-generation seamstress who grew up with a needle and thread in hand. While she launched Slash Alterations in 2014 to offer professional sewing services, her true passion lies in passing on the timeless art of sewing to the next generation. Over the past five years, Ashley has hosted sewing classes at multiple schools, helping kids discover the joy of creating with their hands. She believes sewing builds more than just skills—it fosters confidence, patience, and creativity in every child. Through her classes, Ashley is committed to creating a welcoming, encouraging environment where young learners can develop practical skills and a lifelong love for craftsmanship.
