About this event
One of 5 upcoming events at Ramsey County Historical Society, and 7,065 across the Twin Cities.
December 5th, 2026 Four sessions available: 11 AM, 12 PM, 2 PM, 3 PM 45 minutes/class Back by popular demand! Add some light to the darkest part of the year! Each workshop participant will dip a set of large taper beeswax candles and decorate them with pressed herbs, flowers and foliage gathered this year at Gibbs. These candles smell amazing, burn steadily and are perfect for winter celebrations and heartfelt gifts. Making hand dipped candles has been part of our programming for many years, and it is one of the most memorable parts of our field trip program. Gibbs Farm volunteers and staff will lead you through this project and will have everything you need to get creative with natural materials. This very cool project involves hot wax and timing! All children under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult. For safety and success all kids under 7 will need hands on, one-on-one help from their grown up for the whole project. Details: 1 candle set per registration. This program is meant to be accessible for all; email us if cost is a barrier. The program will take place in our red barn space which is a short distance from our parking lot, please reach out for accessible drop off and parking info.
