(ages 16 and up) The Passaic River meanders through some of the busiest sections of New Jersey. You wouldn’t know it here though. Its slow current and flood prone waters mean many are reluctant to build close to its banks, allowing nature to thrive. Hawks, herons, egrets and turtles are plentiful along the wooded shores of this, NJ’s longest, river. Led by an ACA (American Canoe Association) certified kayak instructor from Kayak East, this tour is rated “Easy” meaning no experience is necessary. This tour is great for paddlers of any skill level. Photographers, bird watchers and anyone who wants to get outside and enjoy nature will also love it! Registration is required. Plan to meet at the Essex County Nature Center’s outside lot in Roseland at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the tour for boat fit. Directions and additional information will be provided upon registration. Space is limited—register early! Members: $75 Single Kayak | Non-Members: $85 Single Kayak
