Fauna Vitae

Fauna Vitae EXHIBIT September 1 – November 30, 2026 Animals have served as central subjects in art since the dawn of human creativity. In prehistoric times, cave paintings featured vivid depictions of bulls and horses, reflecting a deep spiritual connection to the natural world. In more recent eras, animals often symbolized human virtues, vices, or social status. In contemporary art, animals are often used to explore deeper ecological and philosophical themes. Artists use them to comment on environmental destruction, captivity, and the blurry line between humans and nature. Animals in art are like a mirror for human emotion, culture, and our changing relationship with the living world.
