John's lush vocal timbre has been compared to those of Chet Baker and Harry Connick, Jr., and his scat singing follows the traditions of Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Mel Torme. As a saxophonist and clarinetist, John has appeared on stage with luminaries such as Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Arturo Sandoval, Lou Rawls, Steve Lawrence and Edy Gourmet, Ben Vereen, Chita Rivera, Dianne Schuur, John Pizzarelli, Jon Faddis, Milt Hinton, Jimmy Heath, Doc Severinson, Christian McBride, and Branford Marsalis. Guitarist Adam Larrabee has appeared as a sideman on Bruce Hornsby's album "Spirit Trail" and has involved himself in a wide variety of projects in the past few years from playing banjo in the bluegrass group "Joy Kills Sorrow", guitar in the chamber-jazz group "Andromeda", classical mandolin with "The Richmond Classical Guitar Quartet" and mandocello with "Enigmatica", recording and performing with rising jazz prodigy Grace Kelly, and his exploration of the music of Central France with "Le Bon Vent". Drummer Brian Caputo has been a fixture on the Virginia music scene since 1993, performing and recording with diverse music groups from Richmond, Charlottesville, DC, and Hampton Roads. A graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University studying jazz and classical percussion. Most recently Brian has been performing in a traveling jazz cabaret show called "Be Anything" with singer Ali Webb from Charlottesville VA. He currently resides in Richmond VA. Bassist Randall Pharr specializes in many genres of American and Latin music. He is a member of the music faculties at University of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University teaching jazz and electric bass, small jazz ensemble, and jazz improvisation. With only 107 seats, shows at Révéler are intimate and immersive.
