Live Music with Mary Charlotte Young

Mary-Charlotte Young is the Texas-based singer songwriter you didn’t know you were missing. In keeping with folk tradition, Young tells stories through song. Stories of struggle, love, & a darker element of the human experience: murder. Imaginative lyrics, percussive guitar playing, and hard-hitting vocal melodies define her style both live and in studio. Her voice can cut straight to the bone or lull you into dreams. Mary-Charlotte draws inspiration from across the American musical landscape. Her influences range from Townes and Lucinda to Otis Redding and Jeff Mangum. Though typically a solo acoustic performer, Young’s studio albums are chock full of Texas musicians lending their talents to her vision.
