About this event
One of 23 upcoming events at Rowayton Arts Center.
If you’re new to oil painting or feel you’ve never received adequate training in the fundamentals of traditional drawing and painting skills, this class is for you! Have you ever wondered how an artist was able to capture a likeness so well or why your painting looked different in your head vs on the canvas? Mostly, it has to do with your prior experience learning foundational techniques in drawing and painting. We will be working on the following throughout the semester: In this class, students work independently at their own pace while receiving personalized guidance from Felicia. On the first day, she will meet individually with each student to discuss their experience, assess their skill level, and learn about their artistic goals. Based on that conversation, she will create a customized lesson plan for the session. We encourage students to bring a few samples of previous drawings or paintings to help Felicia understand where they are in their artistic journey. This class is appropriate for teens and adults, and welcomes both new and returning students. NOTE: YOU CAN ORDER PAINT SUPPLIES THROUGH RAC FOR AN EXTRA $20 FEE. SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE REGISTRATION FORM AND YOU’LL SEE AN OPTION TO DO SO. Felicia Feldman has Masters in Fine Arts (Painting) from the New York Academy of Art, a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts (Painting) from the Maryland Institute College of Art, and has completed a number of Independent studies with renowned artists Odd Nerdrum, Steven Assael, Will Cotton, Rita Natarova, Noah Buchanan, Vincent Desiderio and Alan Feltus.
