About this event
One of 94 upcoming events at Roxie Food Center, and 1,951 across San Francisco.
While so many effects-driven visions of the future have faded with time, Blade Runner remains a template for imagining the neon-soaked city to come, as influential in its way as Fritz Lang’s Metropolis. Adapting Philip K. Dick’s novel into the gold standard of sci-fi noir, Ridley Scott shares much of the film’s visual legacy with “visual futurist” Syd Mead, whose design concepts helped define its unforgettable world, and with Vangelis’s atmospheric synth score. Part of The Future According to Syd Mead, presented in conjunction with Syd Mead: Future Pastime, on view October 8 through December 17, 2026 at San Francisco’s Transamerica Pyramid Annex Gallery. Note films start right at the listed showtime. Free or discounted for members. All ticket sales are final.
