Office Killer (4K Restoration)

Cindy Sherman’s first and only feature film is a mordantly funny horror-comedy starring Carol Kane as Dorine, a timid copy editor pushed around by her boss (Barbara Sukowa) and largely invisible to her coworkers. When workplace frustration turns deadly, Dorine begins taking colleagues home and arranging them in eerily cozy domestic tableaux. Co-written by Todd Haynes and shot in a richly saturated style that echoes Sherman’s legendary Untitled Film Stills, OFFICE KILLER turns office hierarchy, downsizing, and female invisibility into something grotesque, absurd, and increasingly bloody. A beloved cult object, it also gave production company Killer Films its name. Part of Her Work is Never Done. Note films start right at the listed showtime. Free or discounted for members.
