3/22 porous sonorous – other musics and furhter sounds Obscuress is the Austin-based duo of Christina Carter (Charalambides, Tamarisk) and Spencer Dobbs (Virginity, Human Figure), bringing their veiled minimalism, auditory portière, and vested text work to Denton for the first time. While living in Japan, Chase Gardner crafted a way for immediate and amorphous songs that he presents as Chaase. A first-time collaboration between Kristina Smith, Abbas Khorasani, Stefan González, and Miguel Espinel weaves together strains from distinct sound worlds: Trio Glossía, Heavy Baby Sea Slugs, Ruptured Implant, Monte Espina, Orgullo Primitivo, Oil Spill, Yells At Eels, AKHO, Cacodemon, The Young Mothers, and Bog, among other projects. This porous sonorous program reflects on the song as a musical form.
