Take a guided journey through Rye’s wartime years, when Odiorne Point became Fort Dearborn, a fortress guarding the approaches to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard against Atlantic U-boats. Following a slide presentation at the Secoast Science Center, we’ll explore massive concrete batteries, Panama mounts (gun platforms), and enjoy scenic coastal views. Park entry fee may apply. Wear sturdy shoes. Registration is FREE. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early.
