Stephen Evans and The True Grits

Stephen Evans and The True Grits is an Asheville-based group that plays Folk Rock, American and Alt-Country music. After years of vacillating between being a professional musician and building a nest in Asheville, Stephen Evans asked his friends, Brian Shoemaker (bass), Sam Hess (drums), and Woodstock (mandolin), to form The True Grits and make some music together. Stephen’s evocative vocals and lyrics combined with passionate and professional musicians has now made the band a crowd favorite.
