Biodiversity loss today is occurring at an alarming rate—and many species are threatened by multiple stresses, including habitat destruction, over-exploitation, and invasive species. In this presentation, Dr. Wright will compare and contrast modern-day vs. ancient extinctions, and discuss how the fossil record can be used to inform extinction risk and the long-term consequences of biodiversity loss.
