About this event
One of 12 upcoming events at San Diego Made Factory, and 5,438 across San Diego.
Join us for a free, conversation-based workshop exploring the ways creativity can support healing, resilience, connection, and emotional well-being. Led by community-based therapist Rachelle Archer of Artful Leadership and resident artist Dia Soto, we’ll create space to talk openly about stress, trauma, growth, and the ways creative practices can become tools for navigating our emotional lives and strengthening our connection to ourselves and our communities. Participants will receive materials to create a personal journal, including a leather cover, a notebook, and other art making supplies. If you feel called to, bring personal materials you'd like to incorporate into your journal, such as: Fabric or textiles Magazine pages or art paper Greeting cards Stickers and stamps Paint pens or other drawing materials Photographs Broken jewelry or small meaningful objects Anything else you'd like to repurpose or make part of your creative process Weather and time permitting, we’ll also take our journals outside for a short neighborhood walk, creating an opportunity to write, draw, observe, and photograph as we explore the relationship between creativity, place, and community. This walk will be slow-paced and will not have any hills to ensure accessibility for everyone. Small bites & water will be provided. *Please note that space is limited to 20 attendees, so please RSVP to hold your spot, and cancel if you decide you cannot attend!
