MORE TOAST & JAM: December 13View the Brunch MenuJoin us for a deliciously laid-back Sunday as we serve up sizzling jazz, fresh bites, and lively conversation. NEW OPTION: select "Jam - General Seating" for a seat at the concert for $30 (does not include brunch). Each month celebrated pianist Joe Alterman brings along his favorite musical guests for a one-of-a-kind jazz brunch, blending smooth live performances with unscripted, talk show-style interviews that go behind the music. Featuring special guest Jonathan KarrantJonathan Karrant is an acclaimed jazz vocalist whose album On and On reached No. 4 on the Billboard Jazz Charts, while his live recording Live climbed to No. 2 on the iTunes Jazz Charts.Throughout his career, he has received numerous honors, including the New York City Jazz Honors, the Bravo California Award for Best Singer, and recognition by DownBeat as one of the Top 10 Rising Jazz Vocalists. His contributions to jazz have been further recognized through his induction into the Arkansas Jazz Heritage Hall of Fame and the presentation of the Limelight Award from the UNLV College of Fine Arts.Karrant has recorded and collaborated with celebrated artists including Diane Schuur, Jane Monheit, Houston Person, Tamir Hendelman, and Joe Alterman. With a repertoire that spans classic jazz standards and contemporary interpretations, Karrant brings a modern elegance to the timeless genre of jazz. He doesn’t cover song, he uncovers them.“A voice, romantic without being cloying, warm but not forced, Jonathan carries songs with an emotional weight that reaches your soul. At the same time he can swing with the kind of jazz suave that was patented by Mel Torme.” - Jazz CornerJonathan or "Jonny," as I affectionately call him, has the rare gift of making every song unmistakably his own. He brings a depth and individuality to each of his performances. He's one cool cat! - Diane SchuurYoung male jazz singers who have a great sound and are truly gifted are a rare breed these days. Jonathan Karrant is one of the very best of them. He was born to sing and swing with style.
