About this event

Outdoors

Enjoy a leisurely guided stroll down the Shipley Trail at the Bailey Homestead and discover Sanibel’s remarkable conservation story, the history of the Bailey Homestead Preserve, and the island ecosystems that shaped it all. Then wander through the SCCF Native Landscapes & Garden Center to explore vibrant native plant demonstration gardens, see what’s in bloom, and spot the pollinators bringing the space to life. Not open except on a guided walk or during special events, the tour will finish with a rare peek inside the 1896 Bailey house. No RSVP needed; just meet at the kiosk on the western side of the Shipley rail at the Bailey Homestead Preserve (1300 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, FL). Free, but donations gratefully accepted. Wear sturdy shoes and bring insect repellent, water, and sun protection.
