SCCF Wildlife Cam Monitor Training

Want to get a behind-the-scenes look at SCCF’s new gopher tortoise livestream? Join us for a hands-on training to learn how to monitor and operate the cameras and help give viewers a closer look at the wildlife using the preserve. The livestream features two cameras: a stationary camera focused on a gopher tortoise burrow and a remotely operated 360° camera that allows us to explore the surrounding habitat. During the training, you’ll learn how to use the camera software, operate the 360° camera, monitor wildlife activity, and help keep the livestream engaging for viewers. Volunteers will also learn what to look for while monitoring the feed and how their observations can help support SCCF’s ongoing gopher tortoise monitoring and habitat management efforts. No previous camera or wildlife-monitoring experience is needed—just an interest in gopher tortoises, wildlife, and spending some time behind the scenes helping SCCF share this project with the public.
