Image courtesy of the artist. Honey, I’m Home, a solo exhibiton featuring the work of Jayne Morgan, opens in The University of Alabama Gallery on June 5. A reception with the artist is scheduled for First Friday, Septemer 4, 2026 from 5-7 p.m. For more than fifteen years, Jayne Morgan has used the iconic Honeybear bottle as a recurring motif to explore memory, identity, and belonging. In Honey, I’m Home, the familiar Honeybear moves beyond the still life, becoming a vehicle for stories of loss and healing, love and home, and the unexpected sweetness found in everyday moments. Morgan leads art activities as a volunteer for Children’s of Alabama and Unless U and has served as art director for the Exceptional Foundation. She teaches private art classes for children, and her artwork is the face of the anti-littering campaign in Hoover, AL. She has worked on film and video projects in Los Angeles and in Birmingham. A full-time exhibiting painter, she and her husband also criss-cross the country as extensive travelers and adventurers. Morgan has a BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia. The University of Alabama Gallery is an essential part of the education and development of UA students and our community. Admission to the gallery is free. The gallery is in the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center at 620 Greensboro Avenue in Tuscaloosa.
