Known for his work with legendary artists Jerry Jeff Walker, Roky Erickson, Roger Waters, Ronnie Lane, Carole King and many others, Texas Music Hall of Famer Freddie Steady Krc brings all his experiences and influences to his new recording. He has revived his groundbreaking Americana outfit Freddie Steady’s Wild Country that started in 1986 while living in London. It was a unique sound inspired by his South Texas Gulf Coast roots. Freddie was previously a founding member of Austin, TX new wave/punk rock/power poppers The Explosives. He also founded and led western folk rockers the Shakin’ Apostles, and explored the garage rock sound with The Freddie Steady 5. Freddie has always “thrown a wide loop” musically and they are on full display in his new album, Freddie Steady’s Wild Country “Pass that Jug!”. It’s an exciting gumbo of roots music, Texas-style. Freddie brings his full band to the Saxon Pub for a “record release Party” on Sunday, March 8, for an afternoon matinee starting at 3pm.
