Kids Make an Upcycled Holiday Ornament @ RCLC

Kids 5+ and their caregivers will join Seattle ReCreative to make holiday ornaments from reclaimed materials, perfect for home or gifts. Children will join our partners at Seattle ReCreative and learn to harness the power of creative reuse to make beautiful, inspirational, and artistic holiday ornaments from reused and reclaimed materials. They’ll leave this workshop with wonderful ornaments great for display at home or as a nice gift. All tools and materials are provided. Children (age 5+) must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. About the instructor, Seattle ReCreative: Staff from Seattle ReCreative, a local nonprofit that promotes creativity, community, and environmental stewardship through creative reuse and arts education. This class is offered at a reduced rate as a part of Seattle REconomy’s Community Tool Chest fundraiser in support of expanding programming to our new Lake City location. This class is supported by the Seattle Office of Economic Development (OED) and Seattle Public Utilities (SPU). ACCESSIBILITY: Much of the venue is wheelchair accessible. Some classes may utilize the balcony space, which only has standard-width door access. The facility has an ADA-compliant all-gender restroom. Non-English and ASL interpreters are not provided at our classes and events. However, attendees are welcome to bring their own interpreters. GETTING THERE: By transit: Served by bus routes 72 from University of Washington and Shoreline South, 77 from Roosevelt Station, or 61 from Northgate Station. By bike: There are multiple bicycle route options available to the Reuse Commons, and you are welcome to stow your bicycle inside during your visit. Car parking: There is a shared asphalt parking lot that fits up to 10 cars. There is additional street parking along Lake City Way NE.
